My Priorities

Building on a Strong Foundation

Saddleback Valley Unified School District has a strong foundation built by outstanding educators, engaged families, dedicated staff, and a supportive community.

As our district continues to evolve, we have important opportunities to strengthen academic excellence, support our educators, prepare students for the future, and ensure every decision keeps students at the center.

Academic Excellence

Every student deserves a high-quality education that challenges and supports them to reach their full potential.

Strong reading, writing, mathematics, science, and critical-thinking skills provide the foundation for success. I also believe in a well-rounded education that includes visual and performing arts, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities that help students discover their interests, build confidence, and develop important life skills.

Supporting Outstanding Educators

Attracting, supporting, and retaining excellent teachers and staff is essential to student success.

Educators need the resources and working conditions necessary to do their best work. Questions about class sizes and special education caseloads deserve thoughtful consideration – including their impact on students and educators, staffing needs, available resources, and long-term financial sustainability.

Safe & Supportive Schools

Students learn best when they feel safe, respected, connected, and supported at school.

Strong relationships, clear expectations, and positive school cultures help create a sense of belonging and community. Opportunities through athletics, clubs, arts, and extracurricular activities can also help students develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, and meaningful connections with others.

Preparing Students for the Future

Every student should graduate prepared for the future they choose – whether that includes college, career training, military service, or the skilled trades.

Technology should enhance learning while complementing relationships, hands-on experiences, and meaningful classroom interactions. Students should develop the digital literacy and critical thinking skills needed to use technology responsibly.

As technology and artificial intelligence continue to evolve, we should thoughtfully consider age-appropriate technology use and maintain a healthy balance between digital learning, hands-on instruction, face-to-face collaboration, and opportunities to learn without screens.

Responsible Stewardship

Transparent decision-making and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

Every dollar represents an investment in our students. I will support responsible budgeting, thoughtful long-term planning, and transparent decisions that consider both current needs and long-term financial stability.

Strong Partnerships

Meaningful collaboration between schools and families supports student success.

I believe the best solutions come from listening to different perspectives, treating one another with respect, and working together. I will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, staff, families, students, and our community to build trust, strengthen communication, and find solutions that keep students at the center.

Strong Schools. Engaged Families. Bright Futures.
